QuestionSoalan 10
Life Above the Trees
Aiman Rashid is a ranger at a rainforest park in Pahang. Every day he walks along a canopy bridge forty metres above the ground. He has worked at the park for nine years. "When I was a boy, I used to climb the rubber trees behind my house," he says. "I have never wanted to sit at a desk all day."
Aiman's day starts at 6 a.m. First, he checks the ropes and the wooden boards, because the bridge is checked every morning for safety. Then he counts the birds in the tall trees. Last month he found a baby gibbon alone on the bridge and carried it to the park's vet.
Aiman says that the job is challenging. A storm can arrive in minutes, and then he must bring the visitors down quickly. "The best part is the view," he says. "On a clear morning, it is the most beautiful scenery in the country!" He has already seen a rare hornbill, but he hasn't seen a tiger yet. Many visitors ask, "Have you ever felt afraid up here?" Aiman only smiles and says, "Not yet."

15
QuestionSoalan 15
A: Sara, diving instructor
B: Raju, travel writer
C: Ben, mountain guide
I teach diving at a resort on Tioman. I have taught more than 300 people, and nobody has ever been hurt, because we check every tank before each dive. I have lived on the island for six years and I have never wanted to move to a city. I haven't seen a whale shark yet, but I hope to this year.
I write about my trips for a travel magazine. I have visited 28 countries and I have already published two books. I have kept a blog about my adventures since 2019. Next month I am flying to Peru, so I haven't packed my bag yet. The hardest part of my job is being away from my family.
I am a guide on Mount Kinabalu. I have climbed it over 200 times, but the sunrise at the top still takes my breath away. I have worked with the same team since I was nineteen. Many visitors have never climbed a mountain before, so I walk slowly and encourage them. Last week I carried a tired boy's rucksack to the top.
