A Library for Seeds
In the corner of the community hall at Kampung Pasir stands a wooden cabinet holding hundreds of small paper envelopes. Each one contains seeds: purple long beans, a sweet red pumpkin, a bitter gourd that has been grown in the village for ninety years. This is the Seed Library, started in 2022 by Puan Rohana Ismail, a retired teacher who noticed that traditional vegetables were disappearing from the village gardens.
“When I was young, nearly every family saved seeds from its best plants,” she says. “Then shops began selling packets of seeds from a few big companies, and people stopped saving their own. Within one generation, many local varieties were almost lost.” This matters because local varieties have adapted to the soil and weather of the area over many years. Some survive floods; others can grow with very little water. As the climate becomes less predictable, such qualities are more valuable than ever.
Borrowing from the library is simple. A villager signs the register, takes a few envelopes and plants the seeds. At harvest time, he or she must allow some plants to ripen fully and return twice as many seeds as were borrowed. No money changes hands.
The scheme has already shown its worth. Last year, heavy rain flooded the fields near the village for two weeks. Most commercial crops rotted, but the local pumpkins recovered once the water had drained away. “I never believed that old seeds could be stronger than new ones,” admitted Encik Zaki, a farmer. “Now I plant nothing else on the low land.”
Puan Rohana's next goal is to teach the pupils of the primary school how to collect, dry and label seeds. “A seed is only saved if somebody remembers how to keep it,” she says.

Review: Hutan Indah Adventure Park
Hutan Indah Adventure Park opened in March, and last weekend I visited it with my cousins. (27) ________ Honestly, it was one of the best days out I have had this year.
The main attraction is the Canopy Trail, a series of rope bridges and ziplines among the trees. (28) ________ A friendly instructor checked our harnesses twice before we climbed the first ladder.
The only real problem was the queue. (29) ________ Because of this, we waited almost forty minutes for the longest zipline, which is far too long for such a short ride.
The food was a pleasant surprise as well. (30) ________ A large plate of fried noodles cost only RM7, which is cheaper than at most cafes in town.
Although I enjoyed the trip, I would suggest two improvements. (31) ________ Also, shade is needed near the ticket counter, where the sun is very hot at midday.
All in all, the park is worth a visit. (32) ________
| A | Safety is clearly taken very seriously. |
| B | Only two ziplines were open on Saturday, although hundreds of visitors had arrived. |
| C | Prices at the canteen are fair. |
| D | To begin with, more staff should be on duty at weekends to keep the queues moving. |
| E | Zip-lining has become popular in many countries over the past ten years. |
| F | We had been planning the trip for weeks, and it did not disappoint us. |
| G | The weather has been much hotter than usual this year. |
| H | I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys the outdoors, but go on a weekday to avoid the crowds. |

Model answer (about 150 words):
Has Technology Made Teenagers Lazy?
Imagine a day without your phone. For many teenagers, that seems impossible. Some people believe that technology has made us lazy, but I disagree.
Firstly, it is true that gadgets are so convenient that some students spend hours on the sofa instead of playing outdoors. Moreover, calculators and translation apps can stop them from thinking for themselves.
However, technology also helps teenagers to be active. Fitness apps encourage us to walk 10,000 steps a day, and video tutorials teach us skills that were once difficult to learn, such as coding or cooking. Many students use online tools to start businesses or to organise charity events. A student who once needed hours in the library can now find the answer in minutes and use the saved time for sport or hobbies.
In conclusion, technology is only a tool. If we use it wisely, it makes us more productive, not more lazy.

Model answer (about 150 words):
Young People Can Make a Difference
Good morning, principal, teachers and friends. Some people say that climate change is too big a problem for teenagers to solve. Today, I would like to prove that they are wrong.
Firstly, every small action counts. If each of us switched off lights and fans when we leave a room, our school would use much less electricity, so fewer harmful gases would be released. In addition, we can walk, cycle or take the bus instead of asking our parents to drive us short distances.
Secondly, we can influence others. When we plant trees, recycle our rubbish and talk about these habits on social media, our families and neighbours will follow our example.
Therefore, let us not wait for adults to act. The future belongs to us, and the first step begins today. Thank you.
